Monthly Event - First Sunday of every month
BEAT-THE-BLUES DEPRESSION SUPPORT GROUP, Sunday, 3/02 & 3/16, (First & Third Sundays), 6:00-8:00 pm (SW Studio)
We will discuss a new topic every month. This twice monthly peer-support group helps you clarify:
1) your wellness vision & goals;
2) your depression triggers & challenges;
3) your wellness strengths, skills, & resources;
4) practical actions you're willing to try to feel better;
5) how to ask for concrete support to follow through, and support other men in following through on new actions.
This is not a therapy group, but instead is a place we can support one another in trying and sustaining new behaviors that may help us feel better. We'll focus on what's working and our capacity to learn together and support one another in finding what works for each of us.
DIVERSITY: This group is for adult men of all ages, sizes, shapes, colors, orientations, and backgrounds (including trans guys). Thanks for helping us increase the diversity of men who get invited to this group by forwarding this to any friends/colleagues who might be interested.
CO-FACILITATORS: Brian Taylor, R.N., 53, is not a depression expert and believes in the power of men sharing their personal experience of what makes them feel better and what new things they're willing to try to feel better; Peter Stankavich, Q-LAND's systems development coordinator and a PSU student in graphic design, psychology, and art.
DONATION: $7-$20 (No one turned away for lack of funds; work-study available for any men who can't afford minimum donation (please call us in advance if you want to work-study); all funds go to support the non-profit men's wellness activities of Q-LAND & LoveTribe).
INFO: Brian or Peter at 503-223-8822 X1 or beattheblues@qland.org or www.qland.org.
Manifest, a non-profit Men's Wellness Community, empowers men to pursue their wellness visions & passions together in more than 40 events monthly.
